Work Place Health Management Services

Prioritizing the health and wellbeing of your employees is fundamental to ensuring that your organization is focused on productivity without compromising on the health aspects of your workforce.

Sheela Physiocare offers two packages under the Corporate Services scheme:

  • ERGONOMICS
  • WOMEN’S HEALTH IN THE WORKPLACE

Our unique modus operandi brought to effect by our team of trained specialists involves a four-phase program specifically designed to bridge the general discrepancy between participation in wellbeing programs and positive results persisting beyond the context of such programs being conducted in the workplace.

Phase 1

The Pre-assessment

Our team will conduct a thorough job site analysis to identify risk factors and assess the workers’ degree of exposure to these risks. The assessment report will then be discussed with the relevant authorities in-charge, following which a customized action plan with goals and objectives to aim for will be formulated.

Phase 2

The Workshop

Our strategy will generally consist of a one-day brainstorming and troubleshooting workshop that will include, but not be limited to: interactive seminar presentations, practical tips and solutions to combat common problems, demonstrations of exercise and fitness routines and relevant counselling services. However, training packages can be customized in accord with preferences of the organization.

Phase 3

The Post-assessment

The post-assessment is scheduled after sufficient time has been provided to participants of the workshop to assimilate their newfound knowledge and awareness into actual practice. Consequently, we will also identify persisting problem areas and suggest appropriate action.

Phase 4

The Follow-up

This is the part of our strategy that particularly differentiates us from our competitors. The follow-up phase includes our offer for a continued collaboration, as we strongly believe that sustainable change in any organization can only be made possible by a regular re-evaluation and consistent reinforcement of reforms.

Ergonomics is technically described as the science of “applying physiological and psychological principles to the engineering and design of products, processes and systems with the goal of reducing human error, enhance productivity and enhance safety and comfort”.  In the corporate sector, ergonomics specifically refers to designing the workplace to maximize comfort and reduce the risk of injury without compromising productivity, with the emphasis being on the optimal wellbeing of the worker.

Our team of ergonomic specialists is trained to look out for the three main ergonomic stressors that pose as risk factors in the workplace: the force/ effort required to complete a task, the posture that is adopted in performing the task and the repetitiveness of the task itself. Any combination of these factors could potentially increase the worker’s risk of injury and/ or long-term disability.

As physical therapists, some of the most frequently seen injuries and disabilities are related to Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) and Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI), both being conditions that are commonly acquired through long term exposure to ergonomic stressors in the workplace, and which can be easily prevented with the application of ergonomic principles. Some examples of these disorders include

  • Chronic backpain
  • Cervical strain (“text neck”)
  • Carpal’s Tunnel Syndrome
  • Trigger finger
  • Chronic tension headaches
  • TMJ dysfunction

Large-scale surveys recently conducted within the IT sector concluded that out of an estimated 28 million professional computer users in India, over 5 million suffer from RSI disorders, and over 75% complain of MSD related injury and pain. Note that these statistics refer to only a single industry, and one can only expect the numbers to be off the charts if the multitude of other professions such as medical, educational, industrial, etc., are taken into account.

Sheela Physiocare’s multiphase ergonomics package promises to deliver efficient, quality services that will transform the wellbeing of your employees, maximize their job efficacy and satisfaction, and consequently, boost your organization’s productivity. We will help you minimize the effect of the ergonomic stressors at your job sites. Our workshop will train your staff to use the skills and knowledge we will impart to work smartly, comfortably and safely as possible. We also offer a continued collaboration with your organization so that your workers can have easy, consistent access to our physical therapy and other consultation services to ensure that they completely recover from the pain and injury already acquired, while being motivated to maintain a wholesome work ethic that minimizes the risk of further injury.

Are you are eager to observe a significant drop in employee requests for sick leave, medical claim and complaints, triggered by the stress and strain of working in an environment lacking in ergonomics?
